SOFA Chicago – November 7-9, 2008

SOFA Chicago opens this weekend (Nov. 7-9) at Chicago’s Navy Pier Festival Hall.  SOFA (Sculpture Objects & Functional Art Fair) presents contemporary glass art, sculptural Japanese ceramics, silversmithing, contemporary furniture and wood art, and avant-garde American and European jewelry.

The artworks are from 100 galleries from the US & worldwide.

SOFA Chicago general hours are Friday Nov. 7 & Saturday Nov. 8 from 11a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 9 from 12noon – 6 p.m.  Tickets are $15 for a single day admission and $25 for a three-day pass.  Student, senior and group tickets are available for discounted prices.  Show catalogs are also $15.

Chicago Art – Around the Coyote

Moving to a new location this year, Around the Coyote takes place Oct 17 – 19th in the Plumbers Hall – 1340 W. Washington in the West Loop.

Plumbers Hall will showcase 132 artist booths as well as readings, film, music and theater performances.  Check out some great artists ranging from painting, photography, sculpting, to film-making, musicians all together in one place.  Check out the website for artist listings and more info.  The Around the Coyote 2008  is part of Chicago Artists Month.
